Greatest Game on Earth

At this point there was no little kid anymore and the young man had appeared in myself. Cardinals baseball was the number one thing that I was involved in during this time. I did not know anything else besides trying to play like my favorite player. This is where I want to talk about my Idol in two different people. First I want to talk about my favorite player in Albert Pujols. This man was the reason this baseball love became even stronger than it was already. I was constantly going to games in the summer and never wanted to be away from the Ballpark, so that I can never miss a glimpse of my favorite player hitting. As a young man every time Albert came to the plate, it felt like he was going to hit a home run. I watched every at bat on TV and in person at the games. I never wanted to miss a chance to see this man do his thing. Though Albert does not know this, he was also a man that was great on and off the field for young kids like myself at the time. Always worked hard and never got himself into trouble. This man made it where I never wanted to be away from a baseball field and really wanted to play baseball for the rest of my life.

All this being said Albert was my idol on the field. Albert also brought me even closer with my Dad, because this was my Dad's favorite player as well. We looked at his swing over and over and over again making sure that I understood what I needed to do to become better. Not at the time but now I realize how much closer number five brought us closer than ever. My on field idol made it where my old man and I became best friends even more than we already were. My Dad and I did everything together and I had no way of doing anything without him. Our relationship made it where I was comfortable talking to my Dad about anything. This made the conversations about life and what I want to do with this baseball more serious. I never had a second thought about baseball after high school ever since those days. I knew I was going to try and play at the next level if I was good enough when that time comes. All I knew was that I was going to work my butt off to get to where I want to go. So, in the grand scheme of things both of my Idols in Albert and my Father created everything for me to be the person that I became. This allowed for me to grow into a man and really take a big step forward with the hard decisions that come later in life.
